Report Wizard Answers
1. What is the Report Wizard 2.0?
The Report Wizard is a Blue Sombrero feature that allows admins the ability to customize reports for their club’s needs. Any information gathered during the registration process can be included in a report, so the admins are able to add and remove various information fields to create an infinite number of unique reports.
2. How can I access the Report Wizard 2.0?
Go to the Admin>>Reports>>Report Wizard 2.0
3. What are the reports that are already set up in my Report Wizard?
There are some reports that are already saved in your Report Wizard – you can chose to view these reports as they are, or you can use them as building blocks to create your own custom reports.
- The Enrollment Details report will provide a basic overview of the registrations submitted on your site – information such as player name, parent name, email address, amount paid, and open balance is included in this report.
- The Open Orders report is set to show you details of orders that have not been fully paid for yet. Order number, open balance, parent name, and email address are some of the fields that are included in this report.
- The Volunteer Details report allows you to show information for the users on your site who have signed up as volunteers. You can use this report to compile a list of volunteers and their respective contact information.
- The Division Details report provides a report of all details (start date, end date, birthdates, registration dates, etc.) entered for divisions on your site. You can use this report to get an overview of your division set up and to double-check to make sure your dates and prices are correct.
- The Schedule Match report is set up to show a printable schedule for your teams. The report shows home and away teams, game time, location, etc. and can be edited as needed.
4. What if I don’t need to create a custom report?
All of the reports that are available in your Report Wizard are set up to provide a broad range of information and you might find that the information suits your needs and does not need to be edited. In these cases, you can just select the view option next to the report you’d like to use and from there, you can export the report to Excel.
5. What do I need to do if I am having trouble viewing the report – once exported, the report appears as random characters.
The reports in the Report Wizard need to be viewed in Excel 2003 or another newer version of Excel. If you have an older version, it’s likely that the reports will not appear correctly and will display random characters once exported. You will need to use a downloadable viewer to use the reports such as this free Microsoft viewer, or you will need to upgrade to a newer version of Excel.
6. How do I create a custom report?
You can view step by step instructions on how to create a custom report by viewing the Report Wizard 2.0 page on this site.
7. How do I keep my own reports to use again?
Once you have set up your own report, you can select the “Save As” option that appears under the space to name the report. This will save the report (with the name displayed) in your Report Wizard, so you can go back and view an updated report at any time. (Note: The reports update automatically every day, so you will not need to create a new report each time you need an update.)
