Introduction To The Recycle Bin

The recycle bin stores pages and modules. These can be restored to the site or can be permanently deleted from the recycle bin.

The Pages Window

  • Pages are listed in the Recycle Bin by page name.
  • Pages are listed in the order that they were deleted from most recently deleted to first deleted.

The Modules Window

  • Modules are listed in the Recycle Bin by module title.
  • Modules are listed in the order that they were deleted from most recently deleted to first deleted.

Restoring Modules and Pages

  • Restoring a page will restore it to it's previous location on the site menu. All modules (including content) will also be restored.
  • A module (including content) is restored to a selected page.

Deleting Modules and Pages

  • Deletion is permanent
  • Page deletion includes modules and content.
  • Module deletion includes content.

Housekeeping:

It is recommended that unwanted pages and module are regularly deleted from the recycle bin. This will ensures that the Recycle Bin doesn't become so large that Site Administrators must search through a large number of modules and pages to find the required item.

Restore Deleted Modules and Pages

Steps to Restore one or more deleted modules (including module content) to the selected page:

  1. Navigate to Admin > Recycle Bin.
  2. In the Modules window, select the modules to be restored.
  3. At Restore To Page, select the Page to restore the modules to.
  4. Click the Restore button.

Notes:

  • Modules are listed in the Recycle Bin by module title.
  • Modules are listed in the order that they were deleted from most recently deleted to first deleted.

Steps to Restore Deleted Page(s):

Restore one or more deleted pages to the site. The Page will be restored to it's previous location in the site menu. This will restore the selected pages including any modules and module content that was contained on the page prior to deletion.

  1. Navigate to Admin > Recycle Bin.
  2. At Pages, click on the name of the page to be restored.
  3. Click the Restore button.

Special Considerations!

Restoring pages have some limitations which must be considered first. Pages that have a Parent page which has also been deleted cannot be restored until their Parent page has been restored. If a page like this is restored, the Recycle Bin will notify the user.

Delete or Empty Recycle Bin

Steps to Delete Module(s) From The Recycle Bin:

Permanently deletes one or more modules (including module content) from the recycle bin.

  1. Navigate to Admin > Recycle Bin.
  2. In the Modules window, select one or more modules.
  3. Click the Delete button. A dialog box reading "Are You Sure You Wish To Permanently Delete This Module" will be displayed.
  4. Click OK to confirm deletion.

Steps to Delete Page(s) From The Recycle Bin:

Permanently delete one or more pages (including modules and module content) from the Recycle Bin.

  1. Navigate to Admin > Recycle Bin.
  2. In the Pages window, select one or more pages.
  3. Click the Delete button. A dialog box reading "Are You Sure You Wish To Permanently Delete This Page" will be displayed.
  4. Click OK to confirm deletion.

Steps to Empty Recycle Bin:

Emptying all contents from the Recycle Bin will remove all pages and modules in the Pages and Modules boxes above. Emptying is permanent.

  1. Navigate to Admin > Recycle Bin.
  2. Click Empty Recycle Bin. A dialog box asking "Are You Sure You Wish To Permanently Delete All Pages and Modules" will be displayed.
  3. Click OK to confirm deletion or Cancel to cancel deletion.

Troubleshooting: Deleting Pages

You will receive an Alert when page to be deleted has one or more children pages. E.g. a Page cannot be deleted until it's children pages b and c are deleted.

  1. Select and Delete the child page(s).

Troubleshooting: Restoring Pages

You will receive an Alert when the parent page of one or more of the pages being restored has also been deleted. E.g. b Page cannot be restored until it's parent, a page, is restored.

  1. Select and Restore the parent page(s).
