After a Season of use, you might be looking for sometips and tricks to really help save time on the Blue Sombrero Registration Engine. Here are some great ones from Adam, who has been with the company sincethe very beginning. Feel free to post others that you have learned along the way!

Quick on-screen search From the orders, open orders, and edit divisions (click view enrollment) screens, you can hit "Control" button and the "F" letter on your keyboard to bring up a search box on your screen.  From there you can type any letters or numbers you want to find the information you are looking for. This is great to quickly find a line item to receive a check or to look up contact information when you do not know the parent name but only have the player's name
Family Look-up From the admin manual screen, click the drop down arrow and type the first few letters of the parent's last name.  This will take you right to the parent account or very close by in your parent list.  Remember to type the letters quickly for this trick to work for you.
User Account Search Options Don't forget that you can go to user accounts and search your parent accounts by a number of different ways.  Just decide on your criteria as offered in the drop down menu, enter the information you know about the account, and then click the "magnifying glass" icon to search.  Click the pencil to look up their profile information where you can enter notes on a family in the text editor ("biography" section).
Edit Registrations Another way to find the parent information when you only know the player name is to find the player in "Edit Regstrations" by clicking the the few letters of the last name.  Then copy the "Order Number" from the screen (you can hit Control "C" from your keyboard).  Go to the "Orders" screen, paste in the Order #, and click "View Details" see all the order and contact info for this family.
Efficiency Tip By opening up a 2nd browser for the support website, you can quickly go back and forth between your Blue Sombrero service and the support website.  Just hit "ALT" and "TAB" on your keyboard at the same time and you can quickly go back and forth from screen to screen.
Issue with logging in If you have trouble logging in and you have resent your username and password to your email from the login screen, you might need to clear your cookies and temporary Internet files at least once a week.  This is always helpful when you are working with web-based software and logging into different applications from the same PC.
Additional Notes for Registration There are two areas where you can add notes for parents other than the "Home" landing page.  Go to Site Settings and then type your note in "Login Instructions and Registration Instructions".  You need to add the following after each sentence (

).  This will create a line break and make your notes much easier to read. These notes will show on the login screen and the 1st screen of the registration process.

Admin Manual Order When data entering a form as an administrator, don't forget to change the payment amount on the checkout screen to "$0", if you are entering the information without payment.  This will keep your registration as pending until a check is received when you can go to open orders and complete the order.  If you have a check for a full payment, you do not need to change the payment amount to complete the manual registration.
Participant Report This report is not designed to be used for looking up player information.  It was designed for camp customers to pull a one-page report for each player to take the training room.  The Report Wizard 2.0 is designed for you to create your own data fields that you need and save the report for easy future access.
Coupon Code This feature is on the site settings page and can be used for an advertisement discount, a player who joins the travel club mid-way during the year and needs to receive a pro-rated amount, or for other discount needs. A parent must receive the 5 digit code from the club and can only use it once per account.
Recycle Bin If you accidentally delete an Admin Module (container), just go to the recycle bin from within the admin dashboard, highlight the feature, and then click the "Green" restore button.
Team Building After clicking on a player, you can hold the shift key down and click on a player much lower to highlight all players at once.  Just click Add to drop them all onto the roster.  Or you can hold the control key down and click on individual players and then click Add to add them all to the roster. Don't forget to use the drop down with all the registration questions and then sort any of the columns and add a filter as well (the filter icon gives you several choices with "contains" being the most popular).
Email Templates Why create your emails from scratch each year?  Simply create your email, copy it in the email editor, add your HTML banner to the email, and then type in a title next to the template section. The trick is you must click the "TAB" key on your keyboard to be able to click the "Save As" button.  Once the email is saved, it goes into the template folder and you can access it anytime.
Scheduling For those new to scheduling, please remember to set your availability start date at the location and field level to the current date and not a future date when the games will be played.  You will set the future dates during the scheduling event section. You may have encountered this scenario if you did not see your locations and fields show up on the scheduling event screen.

I wanted to update one of the tips listed in this post regarding Admin Manual Orders.  We have recently added a new payment option at checkout called, "No Payment."  This selection will allow a Club Administrator to process an Admin Manual Order for a parent without having any payment on hand.  For more information, checkout my recent blog about this new feature!  Thanks!
